Time to give it another try bob. Just turn the key to ON and put her in first, hit the clutch cancel button and then turn the key to start, it will jump forward and start up. I didn't know that until my buddy with a Taco was doing it and I said to myself "what the he-ll is he doing now!!???" this is his rig:

what? are you kidding? I just figure, hey their on my butt, they must not know I have a manual tranny and I may drop back on the clutch a little. then I try to drop back and watch their eyes get really really big before I catch it in the knick of time. from then on they either stay really far back or they just pass me.

Geez Louise, I saw the title of this thread and thought, "How can there be 20+ posts about a clutch start cancel button? That's ridiculous!" Curiousity got the best of me, though, and I even learned something new. Like most everyone else, I just thought it was for lazy people who didn't want to push in the clutch when they first started their trucks. I'm going to have to try it now, too.

Kudos to Tatsuo for axing the question.

thats sounds too confusing, i dont have all that stuff, i dont need to have my clutch in to start my rig.

has anyone tried grounding the CSC button so that it's always on? my clutch needs to be pushed in really far to start, so i end up using the CSC a lot - it would be great to have it permanently on . . . .

any reasons why that wouldn't be a good idea?

there's a little plunger switch in front of the clutch pedal that gets plunged when you press the clutch in. It sounds like it is out of adjustment in your vehicle. You could probably adjust it out a little so your pressing the clutch in will plunge it and the vehicle will start without the CSC switch.

yeah, you can use it for that. or you can just do what i do, and let their car hold me until i let the clutch out. they shouldn't be parking that close.

Well my friend has to push that button to fet the truck started.It won't start with pushing in the clutch.Any idea what thats about?

probably the little contact switch that the pedal presses in when it is pushed down. that switch is either out of adjustment or fried or shorted out or something.
