What to do about gauges... Defi-Link?
So.. I've got the itch to put in a number of gauges (Boost, EGT, Fuel Pressure and A/FR or trans temp - since I already have a stand-alone A/FR meter).
I think I'm gonna' run dual needle gauges so I can get four into two pods and run them on the A-pillar, but then I found this system:
http://www.defi-shop.com/product/cu2/cu2_top.html
The short form is that you install a control box, then a number of digital gauges with an analog feel) and/or a single numerical digital display that's programmable.
Any chance that someone's running this system?
General comments/concerns are most welcome.

$$$ wise, I'm going to go all electronic anyway (not "digital" but electronic versus mechanical movements), so I'm already hovering around $400 for 4 seperate gauges. The Defi Control Unit is $110, and the single digital display is $280 - the cost of the senders would be the same either way.
But... When I woke up this morning, I realized that I really don't like looking at digital numbers for things like this - I wanna see that dial move.
So... I think I'm back to looking at the Westach duals.
Thanks for the input!

If you want integrated warning / recording (etc.) functions with analog needle displays, your options include:
- GReddy (60mm Warning series: black / white / silver face: metric)
- Defi Link (60mm in blackface: white / green / new amber illumination: can get 'Imperial' non-metric scales in some editions)
- HKS (60mm: don't remember format: metric)
- Autometer Nexus (due to appear on the market January 2005)
- Blitz DC II
I know what you mean about the coolness of dual gauges (e.g., Westach duals) - or for that matter Westach's triples and quads... The only high-end dual gauges are the dual digital LCD readout ones from SPA Technique.
The Blitz DC II series is ultra-thin and ultra-light. Using the mode control, you can rig a DC II to read 2 different things (e.g., water and oil temps) by toggling modes. I don't remember if either Defi or HKS allow similar dual functionality....
