Weird Electrical Problem...Help!(Searched)

Here's the deal: I was towing my boat, stopped for fuel, started the truck, and it wouldn't shift out of Park! So I used the shift lock override to get out of Park; now I'm good to go until I can get to the stealership. What part, sensor, etc. crapped out on me to cause me not to be able to shift out of Park? Also, once I started driving again, I noticed my turn signals and brake lights were out. I figure I have a short in my trailer wiring. So I disconnect the trailer from the truck and replaced the blown fuses; now when I use either turn signal, my emergency flashers blink! Obviously, the shifting and blinker problems are related, but what went bad, and how these problems related to each other? Help Yotatechers!

Talking Short

Almost the exact same thing happend to RUNNING BOARDS at Tellico on the SE4RJ. His towing harness got pounded on a rock and cut so when he tucked it back up into the hitch it shorted out on the metal and blew the brake light fuse. Luckily I was behind him and had some spare fuses! You have to push the brake to shift and since his brake lights were dead, he couldn't get out of park. I'd check all the related fuses and check your wiring harness for nicks as it is shorting out somewhere.

Good luck!
