URD O2 simulator install help

I got my O2 simulator from URD, but it came with NO instructions. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some tips on what wire gets connected where, while I am waiting for them to get back to me? I have a 2000 4Runner.

Looks like it hooks right up to where the oxygen sensor used to plug in, as well as a steady ground.

Now what goes where, thats a question beyond me. I assume you replaced the exhaust and left the wire connector just hanging? That should house all the wires you will need.

Actually, it goes under the dash, and I need to find the O2 sensor wire, cut it, and splice in the box, and ground it. I just don't know what wire is what.

hmm...their site is kinda misleading then.

I still think every product out there should have a PDF of the install instruction available on their website.

Fink had the same thing happen when he installed his O2 sim (kept getting a CEL), but found out he had it hooked up wrong when he emailed Gadget. Email Brian over at URD and ask him for the wiring instructions for your truck, he's a good guy and he'll get you what you need. More than likely you don't have it hooked up right either if your getting a CEL for P0420 or a rear O2 sensor code.

I have mine installed with NO cats on a cali emissions truck and have had 0 CEL since i put it on around 15,000 miles ago. I will look for the install wiring diagram (my 99 had a different wire color than what was said but i have a full truck diagnostic wiring diagram that labels them all and re-routed it to the correct wire) Do not just hook it up, make sure you check the wires and colors as sometimes they can be slightly different.

Yep, that was exactly the same issue as what Fink had!

Well, it's gone from bad to worse. After the install I drove it no more than 40 miles and it threw a P0125 and a P1135.

So, either I have it installed incorrectly, or something else is wrong. I installed it according to the instructions Kevin sent me. I dunno what's going on.
According to the instructions, the black wire is spliced into the Plug B Pin 18 wire. From what I have read, I thought the black wire was for ground. I connected it per the instructions, however, to the blue/black.

Any ideas? I'm doublechecking my work now...

Call Gadget at URD and make sure you have the correct instructions for your year truck.

I emailed them this morning. The instructions that Kevin sent me look correct. It was a fwd email right from URD for his request for instructions for a 00 CA emissions 4Runner with 3.4V6. I can't even drive it a mile without the codes coming back, so something is wrong.

Maybe they didn't send the correct simulator? I don't know if there is a diff with a CA emissions truck, which is what I have.
We'll see what they say.

J

Remember your O2 sensors have to be installed and plugged in for this to work. Mine works great.
