URD Fuel Mod Question
I bought my 2000 4Runner used, and I can obviously see that the supercharger is installed. How can I tell if the URD fuel mod or 7th injector has been completed. If you have a pic of the location, that would be awesome.
Thanks,
Ben

Hey, you bought the green S/C'd runner from out of state huh? It doesn't necessarily ping if you don't have the urd. My guess, is take a look under the carpeting on either side of the console, and check for random wires throughout the engine bay. Or, net time you're in Denver/Boulder, we'll race...that should tell you right away!

There aren't any really obvious ways to see the URD kit. The injector splices are hidden by the S/C, and everything else is buried behind the dash, or in the gas tank.
The easiest way would be to remove the glove box and get to the ECU. If you see spliced wires leading from the harness you can bet their is some sort of FTC installed. If there are no splices, then you definietely don't have the URD.
Hope this helps.

By the way if you don't have it I would HIGHLY recommend some sort of fuel tunning modification.

2. When you pull the glove box and the air duct just behind the glove box, find the ECU. If all the wires going to the ECU (the larger of 2 black boxes you may have) are black, then you have a TRD 7th injector setup.
3. Find the EGR port on the housing of the blower at the rear and just after the throttle body. If there is a fuel injector mounted in there with wires going to it----you have a TRD 7th injector.
4. If you have a whining noise coming from the area of the fuel tank especially if you have less than half a tank----you probably have a Walbro fuel pump.
Those are just a few things to check----
