Unknown Wire or tube in cargo area

I have bad rusting in the cargo area I want to start taking care of and when I pulled the carpet in the cargo area I came across a tube or wire running from side to side ending in the side panels. It feels hollow but Ive never seen it in anyones thread before. Any ideas?

Man I'm glad I don't live the rust belt, that breaks my heart. No idea what the wire is, shouldn't too hard to trace though.

Yeah and I traced it to both sides and it ties into the taillight fixtures with a green wire. On the passenger side it even had a tag that said Passenger Jumper Assy. Never heard of it. Has anyone heard of that assembly before? I think i affixed phitos, but Im new to this and am generally computer retarded.

From 4runner.org forum, it is a trailer hitch assembly wire, but was supposed to be sunk with the other wires in the rear. Not a Japan factory bit, but still Official Toyota, and lots of people have it the same way, so guessing it is a US port or dealership install job.

Did you have a leak? I've had a Husky cargo liner in my truck since buying it in 2001 and the mat, carpet, and sheet metal look as new. I check every so often.

No leak, just looks like the rear window was contually left down in the rain. I have to pull that panel still to see what the body metal looks like, just been busy pulling the rest of the interior, its my daily driver so cant afford to be too extreme with pulling parts out.
