How would I go about making an under seat driver side subwoofer. Possibly a powered one would be easiest to wire up. Who's done it before, and what have you used?
Maybe an ininity basslink.

No, it's a 3rd gen. 4runner. I want my trunk space cause I often fold down my back seats, and carry junk like tires.

I just installed a Blaupunkt THb 210A under my seat.
Install was fairly easy, the hardest part was runnning the power from the battery to the unit.
The amount of bass is moderate - perfect for an older guy like me. You won't get super booming bass but it really rounds out the sound very nicely.

My HU had some RCA subwoofer outs, so it was really easy to hookup. One good point is that it turns itself off after a minute of no music input.

you will want a ported box if its gonna be that small or it will be really muffled. i would reccomend square ports if possible they have a really nice sound. also if your wiring to a HU with no rca's go to yer local car audio supply and get an adapter. you need to hook the remote up to one of the speaker wires.

You can do it like this for a few bucks and a little time. build a small inside box with MDF sealit with liquid nail DYNAMAT the inside build a face and your done and it kicks plus you keep all your storage space that's why I did mine this way (with 10's)

Thanks for the advice, I got it on order with an entry level line output converter.

good luck with the install ...
should be pretty easy, you'll need an inline fuse, wire, and a connector for the connecting to the battery. I ran the wires beneath the carpeting whenever possible to make the install cleaner (duh).
I really do like this setup.

if you ordered the JL Stealthbox, you'll be really happy. I installed mine last year with an alpine 5 channel, 6.5" pg rs's up front and 5.25" for rear fill and I couldn't be happier. The box never gets in the way and I sleep in the back of my 3rd gen for weeks at a time on my roadtrips. Ran the wires under the carpet and no one can tell.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would just add some more information to this one.

I just installed a BOSS BASS600 ($118) under my drivers seat (the passenger seat has the rear heater fan). This subwoofer provides a good amout of bass and is super compact. It really complements my new polk DB speakers. I does take a little fiddling with to get the bass to blend smoothly with the rest of the system, but sounds great after that.

Installation tips:
1) Buy the BOSS audio 8 gauge amplifier installtion kit ($19), it has everyting you need to install the subwoofer, its cheap and good quality.
2) Make sure to you have a good connection with your ground wire (remove the paint)
3) It is possible to fish the power wire though the existing holes in the firewall, I was able to get mine though the hood latch cable hole.
4) To get all four corners of the sub supported, you will need to put a small block under the back passenger side corner.

I had the basslink, and it kicked ass. I have moved it to my BMW tho, but plan on ordering at least 2 more basslinks. one for the runner, and one for the boat.

Good to hear from you Blaupunkt guys. I was considering one of those myself but could never find anyone running that powered unit.

The Basslink I or II would never fit under the front seat. They can be mounted standing up, or square to the floor.

Been looking to add some boom to my car with a new audio system but was wondering if you have a build page for those subwoofers? Also looking to keep my cargo space open and The stealth box from crutchfield is nice but $$$$$ is too much and it removed that side cargo area. Wondering If I could copy the left sub design in mine.

Looks like this thread was revived, just want to say I'm not as impressed with my under-seat subwoofer as I first was. I'll probably have to sacrifice some room and build a box.
