u hual trailers agggghhhh
well my roomate rented a uhaul trailer to move back home with and this is where i begin to hate companies that dont do anything right .
first off anyone , who wires in trailer lights to a toyota and doesnt get the spliter box , thanks for wasting a lot of time .
ok , then we try and hook up the trailer lights to the newly wired in splitter box , and humm , not everything works right . gee go figure , youd think after 4 hours of trying to get this trailer to light up correctly that someoen from u haul might have called a shop somewhere that could tell us what was wrong . well , finally after telling u haul that my roomate wanted his money back and was going else where , she suggested we take the trailer over to the other u haul shop that has trailer and hitch installers , and they said theyd help get it hooked up right , humm , sounds like we should have had their help a long time ago.
well luckily , they stayed open late for us to get over to the shop , we do a few tests , and then the installer suggest that we ground the trailer better , because the trailer is ground from the ball of the hitch to the tailer, humm chrome plated brand new ball and stinger , and its not grounding right , go figure .
after a little kentucky rigging , we get it grounded , run a test , and low and behold , ever light works properly .
im telling this story , to warn others of the way u haul does business , they let places be rental spots without first having properly trained personel to hook up lights that are required by law to have i nthe first place.
if you must use a uhaual trailer , rent and pick up from one that has hitch installers to help you hook it al lup , and never ever let them change your wiring , because they think its yours thats messed up .
when my roomate retuned the trailer , i told him to complain about the disservice the first place offered , which he did , and recevied no compensation for being a day later then he should have been , and having to spend the time fixing their problem.
