turn signal noises
They aren't the ones you want to hear.
Recently, I can't pinpoint when,my turn signals started messing up. When I turn it on, occasionally, it will make a grinding type of sound. It continues until I turn off the signal,or I jiggle the handle.
It's weird. It's intermittent, but when it starts messing up, it status that way for a few signal attempts.

About the only thing that might make noise would be the flasher or the contacts in the switch..
I can`t really say but it should not be a grinding noise.
Do the turn signals work when this happens??
Does this happen with the vehicle stopped and turn signals on??
Are you sure it is not something else??
Brakes??
Wheel bearings /Steering linkage??

Flasher fluid...yeah. I'll bit that next time I'm at home Depot.
The issue occurs regardless of whether I'm moving or sitting still, in park or drive. 100% positive it's related to the flashers. I move the lever, the signals don't begin blinking, but there's a grinding noise from the steering column. It's almost like gears slipping on each other. The sound is like a windup toy when you let it go.

All right. I think I've uploaded a zip of the sound it's making. I recorded it as an mp4 on my galaxy. I had to save it as a zip in order to get this type of file loaded onto the site.

Mine will occasionally do that exact same noise when I don't fully engage the turn signal - when I'm just making a lane change and want to do a couple of flashes I'll push to the point where it starts flashing, but doesn't click into place. If I just *barely* make contact, once in a great while it will buzz like that.
I'm assuming it's the switch making very poor contact, and the flasher relay is only barely getting current, so it just buzzes instead of fully turning on.
So I'd guess if yours is doing that when clicked all the way in that the contacts inside are dirty and worn, not making good conduction. It's probably not worth the effort to try to fix the switch, probably better off getting another one from a junkyard.
