tune up 96 4runner

My taxes should be here by friday so I am doing a long over due tune up, I will be getting everything from carquest since my wife has a friend there who hooks us up. Not sure brands yet cause I do not know what they carry but I will try to get good stuff depending on my choices. While I am doing this I might do the diff breather and I think I am going to spray paint the 4runner since it looks like garbage. Im also going to try to tighten up some odds and ends like tightening the driver mirror and going to pull a part and trying to get a rear latch cause mine is shot. Let me know what you all think, I will try to make a post of me doing all this stuff! Sorry this was long and cluttered. Im also doing the seafoam treatment. By the way if any one in Washington wants to come help I will buy you pizza and beer!!!

seafoam
atf fluid
at filter and gasket(does it use one?)
power steering (uses atf correct?)
spark plugs
spark plug wires
radiator flush and new fluid
new brake pads and rotors
brake fluid
oil
oil filter
air filter
fuel filter
new white bulbs(I like the crisper light)
diff fluid
wipers

Now the questions I have are as follows...
1. Does the trans case use atf or gear oil?
2. Power steering uses atf correct?
3. What else should I be checking while I am at it?

Trans uses dexIII...The trans pan uses sealant.right-stuff or FIPG...just do a fluid replacement at cooler lines and don't bother with trans pan removal if its not leaking....and install cooler..JMO

powersteering uses DEXIII as well, easy to change, use a spray bottle to remove old fluid..very easy to do.

I would highly reccomend bypassing the trans cooler located in the radiator with a heavy duty aftermarket one..do a search....(I have a tru-cool one on mine)

I would not bother with fuel filter...It never solves any problems..Unless you just want to do it for kicks...JMO

GL4-5 for rear diff, also do transfer case while you are there along with front diff...I just use the same fluid for all.

I would replace PVC vale and GROMMET(gonna need this part, they are usually hard as a rock)

Don't forget to:
Lube driveshafts
adjust rear brakes
lube rear brake bellcranks
inspect drive belts
Clean MAF(maf cleaner)
Clean throttle body and IAC VALVE(carb clean)
lube hinges and locks,antenna
inspect all exterior bulbs for function
double check tire pressure

Buy:
Box of nitril gloves
several rolls of blue towels
several cans of brake clean

Make sure you post a picture of your truck after you spray paint it

although i know toyota labels their fuel filters as a lifetime product, there has been pretty well made arguement stating otherwise, i would highly recommend not overlooking the fuel filter.

as for everything else, i think you hit the nail on the head
