I am cleaning my throttle body this weekend and replacing the stock metal "D" TB gasket with a nice new TRD "O" shaped gasket.

Just wanted to share this information with you all.

The part #00602-17620-032 no longer works.

The new part # is PTR26-35041
For a grand total of $2.20 at the dealership!

I am doing the mod this weekend. For a S/C setup you lose 1.7 lbs of boost so a NA 3.4 won't see seat of your pants difference but I am sure it can only help the flow of air. D

I'm curious about this. Have people who've done this on a NA motor with opened up intakes noticed any difference? Slightly more pull or better MPG?

Has anyone who has done this noticed a difference overall? Im going through doing easy things that help out on my new t4r and was considering this as a cheapo easy mod.

lol theres a guy selling these for like 6 dollars shipped here ...i notice throttle response is a little better and smoother

I bought one but haven't installed it yet.

I'll probably do a full spring tune up here in a while and will add it then.

Thinking of it I should probably add it before the tune up to see if it makes a difference. I'll report back either way.

I installed the o ring mod last weekend. It was super easy and I like the idea. But I can't say I noticed an improvement in TR or HP. I have not measured MPG.

I'm not taking off either...

i bought one from rimpainter to days ago and hopefully should have it soon... hoping that it does do something! i know its cheap but kinda a waste of $6 if it doesnt. Change adds up after a while

i did mine last weekend, the motor sounds much smoother but iunno if that is from the ) gasket only or the combination of truflow cleaning, maf cleaning and TB cleaning. i tell you those 4 things combines did amazing things. might have gotten my mpg back i was down to 15-16. i wont know for another few weeks after i go through a couple tanks of gas.

I think the question isn't if the o-ring gasket improves anything, it's "why did toyota restrict the intake in the first place?"

5 minutes with a dremel will save you some cash and/or a trip to the dealer.
Did the mod on my rig and noticed no real boost increase.

I just called my dealer to get a price on this, and gave him the part number in the first post... He said there's a new part number PTR29-0600 I believe is what he said. He also gave me a $15 price! This is the same dealer that wanted $97 for plug wires! I think MSRP on wires are only ~$70(?).

The PTR29-60030 is still active, part now lists for $10.52. Online, around $7.
