So I kow you can send you SC snout here or there for a nominal fee but given the chance I certainly would like to do it myself. I have the parts coming and can't figure out how to go about getting the nut on the pulley side off. Help please!

Do NOT use an impact wrench. Get a chain or strap type wrench to hold the pulley (wrap with rubber strip to keep from damaging pulley grooves) and remove nut lefty loosey.

I need to get an old used belt then, as anything else I Have will damaged the threads (already re filed a spot sheesh). Ok but good to know, and leftty loosy so common thread not English. That SOB is on there thats for sure, and I would never use an impact, I'm more of a muscle it off kinda guy.

Hmm oh there it is the nut is being held snug with RED loctite ,,,,,,,,,,,SOB wheres my crembrule torch when I need it?

With a few minutes to spare I removed the pulley by heating the nut (red loc tite) then slid the pulley off. I removed the snap ring but cannot for the life of me get the shaft out. I read this and it wasn't much help as I didn't think beating the living hell out of the shaft was a good idea. http://www.rollingperformance.com/snoutrebuild.htm

All I have ever done is swap the pulleys, but reading those instructions it mentioned tapping with a rubber mallet. Have you tried that?

I Have scoured multiple google pages and turned up noting as for a home rebuild utilizing a press or other wise. While I'm not working with sensitive electronics I feel it a fair assumption to not want to beat the living crap out of said snout shaft to remove it. I Imagine I'm working with a shaft that is pressed into one shaft and snugged into another.
