It's no where near the Cayanne Turbo's times, that SUV is rediculously fast and handles suprisingly well for an SUV also.

Strange, but if I look at the stock V8 4R that was tested, these numbers are not impressive.

A stock 4R beat 8 sec to 60 (normally 7.8 or so) and beats 16s in the 1/4 (normally 15.8 or so). SO those numbers look all but impressive.

Just to clatify a stock 4R V8 beats a Cayenne S to 60 and trails it very closely in a 1/4. The Cayenne has more HP, but lacks in torque and it weighs almost a 1000lb more.

Are they going to make this charger? I don't think the new V8 will accomodate it. How would the VVTi fit into the picture.

The Cayenne S isn't the turbo model right sinced the turbo model has been clocked in the 13s plus I think those 1/4 mile numbers may have been recorded at a track (it's possible it was just done with timing equipment and not an actual track at all) with less than ideal conditions since I think V6 SC'd Runners run in the 15s. My guess is that Runner should run 14s at an ideal track.

the cayenne is the base model, with a wind sucking V6. Then the 4.5 V8 S and then the twin turbo "turbo" model ( which is actually the only worthwhile performer).

I got my 4Runner (Limited, V8, 4WD) for around $36,000 in Atlanta, internet deal with all the options except the GPS and air suspension. I found the TRD supercharger on ebay for $3700 and installation was $800. Considerably less than the $48,000 that article was quoting. If you get a dealer to install the supercharger, you get the full 5-yr/60,000mi drivetrain warranty with the supercharger. You only get a year if you install it yourself.
Bad news, I already spun a bearing on the supercharger, had it replaced under warranty.

Cause the Touaregs spend more time at the dealer than on the road. Apparently a huge number of owners have had lots of issues. Not issues like 4Runner of a rattle, but rather suepnsions not working, car not starting, etc, etc. Go look at the owner reviews on edmunds.
