I am planning to buy either NWOR or TRD's headers and stainless cat back. I have found more info on TRD's, but I like NWOR Y pipe to connect the headers. Otherwise, they are fairly similiar. This will be installed on my 2000 3.4 4runner. So which would you get?

I had a comment on TRD headers somewhere. Do a search. It had to do with a guy with a Mustang Mach 1. He had his headers on longer and they looked brand new. While I had mine on for like 6 months and they look like crap. (Rusting) I never looked at the cat-back yet, I don't want to get angry.
He said they are not pure stainless. Plus he paid almost the same price maybe a little less than I did for my headers.
He owns a high performance shop so I think he knows what he is talking about. Knows more than I do, because I'm just getting into this hobby after a childhood dream of owning a 4Runner.
Toyota doesn't want to give me any kind of replacement of money back, and the dealer installed them.

Thanks for the info. I had NWOR headers and cat back on my 3.0 truck. They still were in good shape after 10 years. Had to reaplce the gaskets a few times. Have done lots of searches and nothing about NWOR for the 3.4. Not sure if that is a good thing.

If I had a digital camera, I can show you my headers... But I have the plain regular film camera. :o( Get the TRD ONLY if you can't find anything else... and if you do get them... If you can get a warranty that states they will not rust from a Toyota dealer... take it. (I doubt they will honor such a deal) It will be more expensive for the installation, but you won't kick yourself in the azz like I am.

If you can hold off a little while on the headers Doug Thorley Thorley Headers is in the process of making headers for the 3.4. They will be available in the Fall if I remember right and will be available in chrome or coated. My brother has a set of the coated ones on his V8 Chevy truck and they are impressive. Looks and performance wise. Just another option to think about.

I've been reading all around and the only thing I keep seeing is that the TRD headers are the only quality headers and that you LOSE low end with them.. Is this correct?

See above post. TRD headers have plenty of issues with them. I have seen the JBA headers and exhaust and it is TOP NOTCH. Just like all their stuff.
