Trans hesitation when cold

Ive got a 00' limited automatic. As its been getting colder overnight now that if i start up the truck and take off the trans wont shift into third (i think its 3rd) til im a ways down the street.

my older 94 4runner would do this as well but it would take about a mile or so, i was told this was normal. Is this supposed to happen on a 2000 4runner as well?? just wondering if this is normal, any input would be appreciated.

It's typical for the 3rd Gens. Just let her "or him" warm up a little.
