Toyoda is actually the Japanese name of Toyota. When it began to manufacture overeas they changed their name to Toyota because it was easier to pronounce. In other words Toyoda = Toyota

No, Toyoda is the original family name of the founders; they changed the name to Toyota for marketing purposes. Toyoda is still the name for the heavy maufacturing company that Toyota owns (i.e., they made your steeringshafts, driveshaft, etc.).

yeah. it's probably a good thing they changed the name, not sure about it being easier to pronounce tho, both are pretty easy.

otherwise we'd be calling a Yota a Yoda.

See, that hooker at Hooters no offense got all worked up and sued for nothing. There really is a Toyoda. Should of just gave her the steering SHAFT instead of the Yoda doll.

I live right in the middle of Aurora by the Aurora mall. But my parents live out in your direction out by Grandview High School in Centennial.

I visited the Toyota Museum in Japan a few years ago and they also gave a rason for the number of strokes to write out the name. Here is what I found on that...

It was a pretty cool tour BTW.....DeanB
