Tired/ungly leather seats..anyone get replacement covers ?

(Clearly I meant UGLY not UNGLY but this board will not allow an edit of a title....)

My 98 Ltd has a very tired looking drivers seat. The leather is marked and starting to get bald patches.

I would like to replace the seat cover or cover it up and a number of people make covers that replace the original or that slip over the original. I want a standard appearance so Wet Okole is not an option

Has anyone got any experience (good or bad) with any particular brand ??

Thanks

David

Mine did the same thing and I was lucky enough to find an all new set of all 4 used leather seats on Ebay for 500 shipped. They where in great condition. You might want to try there.

One thing that I did do when I got the new seats is swap the bottom cushion on the drivers and passenger side. By doing that you take the part of the passenger seat that has seen the least wear (the inboard side) and put it on the outboard side of the drivers seat. This pretty much resets the clock on wearing out the drivers seat.

I replaced my cloth with Katskinz leather seats, and they look perfect. You can purchase all the trim as well as the leather for both the front and the rears. Looks as good if not better than Runners equipped with leather from the factory.

Could you post up some pictures? Also I hear that Classic Soft Trim is one of the best, dealers use them often.

I had a Classic Soft trim TRD sport special edition in my 2003 Sport.

Gorgeous and was $995 installed. I was quoted $1500 for the same thing recently.

I have heard very good things about the Katskinz kits as well.

How hard is it to swap the bottom cushion from the drivers to passenger?

I heard the bottom swap is really easy to do. There is a guy on ebay that is selling tan leather seat covers for 4runners. Looks like it would match perfect and you only have to buy the piece you need.
