Tire toils

I now have 4 brand new Big O Big Foot A/T Dual Groove Tires. These are the same exact tire's I had before, and I was happy with them.

After the 4 were installed today, I barely got 2 miles before I noticed that the tires aren't balanced (severe vibes). Also, the car handles TERRIBLE now. I've never been afraid to drive my car until today, the rear end flies out in the most modest turns (which is sometimes fun, but not when I'm driving normally). It scares the ˟˟˟˟ out of me. ALSO, my lugs dont match anymore on one of my rims, one is 1/2" longer!

To top it all off, there was red grease pencil on each of my tires that wasn't removed prior to delivery!

It's being "handled" tomorrow.

My question is: What the hell could make it handle so unsafely?

I have firm-ass KYB shocks, and it's never driven badly.

Also, he jacked the enitre front of my car at once from the skid plate and put a nice dent in it. IDIOTS!

Way to much tire pressure in the rear tires probably causing it to skip off of the roadway.

Also, each tire (except for one, done by another "tech") has 4.5 or more ounces of weight! Thats like 5 inches on weights on each rim! THATS CRAZY!

BTW, the pressure is at ~35psi

The hunter site says the place has the GSP9700 machine..and that pisses me off. Also, the didn't use that lug adapter, and they guy was swearing at the tire constantly. So I'm thinking all of my problems are related to the misbalance.

I took it back today. They balanced again (3 of the 4 were off 4+ ounces).

Turns out my receipt said 35, 34, 35, 35 PSI, and in actuallity there was 65PSI in each tire (the very max). The owner of the shop was PISSED! I'm sure the "tech" is getting fired.

Also, they pulled off a billion weights and scratched my rims a little bit. So I spoke up and I'm getting TECH 1's friday FOR FREE!! WOO WOO!

Meanwhile truck rides as smooth as glass, and I'm happy!

Nice score on the Techs!
When I take my tires in I talk to the guy and I'll say something like, "watch out for that nail there" so he knows that he's working on my truck.
I'll watch them like a hawk and so far no problems

Yah, I definately watch them do everything now. Big O Allows customers in the bays, so I'm all over the scene. And it turns out my Gorrila locks that came on my car are the wrong type for aluminium rims!

I'm gonna write the owner a nice letter. I fell sort of guilty taking the tech 1's (because I did ask for them, and the damage isn't THAT bad).

Nah, don't feel guilty - they screwed up on your truck. The stuff that you had wrong on your tires *could* have left you dead on the side of the road. Fortunately, you know what you're doing. Can you imagine how bad this could have been if some soccer mom was just driving her kids around?

EDIT:
Yeah, I'm generalizing but it's only to make a point.
