tinting windows with dot matrix
Has anyone ever tinted windows that have the dot matrix on them? You know, the small black dots you sell on the rear windows of cars. This is on a 88 4runner.

It's a HUGE pain in the neck to do it! There are several ways to go about it (you can sand dots off.. you can use hot glue..). Honestly, you're much better off finding a good shop in your area and pay them to do it for you.
In my opinion, this isn't the sort of mod that feels good to do on your own (a lot of work and it's highly unlikely it'll come out as good as a pro-job)
If you do want more info on this, just go to google and type in dot matrix tint. You'll get loads of sites with detailed advice on how to do it.

My buddy had a Cutlass that had that stuff, and it never really took to it. It looked pretty crappy actually. He went back to the shop and they cut around it, and it looked much better.

the local shops won't touch it since 75% of the rear quarter window of my 88 4runner is dot matrix. they are doing all the other windows since i'm lazy to do it. i think i'm going to have them cut the tint pattern for me and try one of the methods on the board.
