Pretty simple (22RE engine assumed), about like adjusting a brake cable on a bicycle. You have the threaded ferrule that the cable passes through in a slot in the throttle mechanism. A nut on each side holds it in place. To tighten, you want to screw the ferrule back away from the throttle linkage. To do so, loosen the forward nut and screw it forward a few turns. Then turn back nut to "tighten" it. This will pull the ferrule into the nut and tighten the cable. Once set to where you want it, tighten the forward nut (holding the rear nut) to hold it in place.
