Tight turning manual hub

My driver side hub is fairly hard to turn, not nearly as easy as the passenger side. What may be the cause of this and what may be needed to correct it?

Old 87 I had was like that the majority of it's life. Probably a lack of grease somewhere in there. However, I never bothered it and it never bothered me.

My truck had a hard to turn passenger side hub and it ended up being a busted spring. Tear the hub off and take a look at the parts and make sure nothings broken. If everything's OK, grease it up and live with it.
