Question Ticking noise from dash

New to Toyota, just recently bought my first back in December, a 2002 SR5. It's a big step up from my last ride, a '93 Corsica. My quandry is this: I have recently started to notice a light ticking noise coming from the dash, around the A/C radio area. Seems to occur most frequently when I'm moving and the ticking also happens when going over bumps in the road. I'm thinking its a bad connection somewhere in the dash, but all the lights and functions are fine. Anyone have problems with this? Any idea what to tell the guys in the shop if I take it in? This Fourm as been a great help getting me aquainted with the 4Runner and all it's capable of.

Does it vary with the speed of the blower?
Could just be something rubbing but you'd need to open up the dash to see what might be amiss.

The strange thing is that it only ticks, or I only hear it, in the mornings, or after it's been sitting for 8+ hours. Also changing the A/C controls doesn't seem to have any affect on it either. But it does seem to be more prominent when it's colder out. Is the blower connected to the A/C unit?

This sounds exactly like mine, except I don't think it's actually IN the dash but jsut on the otherside of the firewall. I'm not 100% sure if this is the same problem, but it sure sounds like it. My understading is that it has to do with some emissions stuff that has an accompanying TSB on Tacomas only (even though they're the same parts). I do live in California with out crazy emissions standards, but my truck is originally from Nevada.
