So im on a roadtrip right now in my 98 4runner and there is a horribly annoying ticking noise coming from the dash/gauge area. It starts around 50mph and gets faster the faster I drive. The only way I can describe it is a very distinct repeating tick.....
I doubt it is anything extremely wrong but its really toying with my sanity!!!
Please help!

I had a speedometer cable go on a vehicle that met those symptoms.

where it attaches to the back of the speedo gauge was where it was clicking
