is there a difference between a 91 and 94
Hello Members.Would anybody know if there is a difference between a 91 and a 94 4runner.From what I have gathered the grills are different. The doors have side impact braces. The ac has newer refrigerant. The reason I ask is that I still have the factory service manuals for a 91 we had years ago.Now we have a 94.So I was wondering how much of the 91 manual would cross over to the 94.Someday I would like to swap in a 3.4 so I am specifically interested in the EWD for the engine and auto tranny. Was there any changes or upgrades to these items in that time frame.Thanks.

Check this site for the main differences, the only main mechanical ones are CFC free air and 4 wheel antilock brakes on the 94. Most other things ie engine, tranny etc should be the same. I'm using a 95 manual for my 93 and haven't found any major differences.

The tensioner for the timing belt is different as are a few other minor engine things. The belts are serpentine belts instead of v belts, the brakes which you mentioned, updated computer info, etc. Little things.
