Would I have to buy the entire devils own kit or could I just put together a DIY kit with a devils own controller?
More or less, now you could for sure use the DIY kit with the smaller pulley but it would not be as "safe" as i would like if you did all the "extras" i will have listed it would be fine i think but at that point it is only $50-$100 more for the devils own kit.

Yes, you could put together your own kit with a devils own controller as well, that would work fine although the controller is the most expensive part of the kit.

Like with my truck, i am tuned so that if i ran out of meth, i would be lean enough to cause problems, but i am willing to take that risk since i keep up with my truck and know that i should not run out and if i do i will not boost it till i get home.

It is up to each person, i just can't recomend somthign that could ruin an engine if you didn't notice you were out of fluid ect but that doesn't mean it won't work just fine.

Well I guess with the meth/water injection would richen up the A/F mixture and the unichip would probably be able to compensate for it. One thing I like about the unichip is that I can reset the fuel trims with the flip of a switch. So say I ran out of windshield wiper fluid, could I just turn the injection unit off and reset my fuel trims so it would be like I never even was running the meth injection?

Honestly i am not fermiluar with them at all, so no idea how they work.

Although it most likely ignores the O2 sensor at WOT and thus would not adjust for any changes no matter what. Only closed loop will be adjusted.

If i knew how your tune was done (aka, what kind of AFR it is running and how agressive the timing) i could give you a better idea.

Basically, long as the meth is spraying, you could run a 2.1 pulley if you wanted with no problems. the issue is if it stops spraying. Just depends on how closly you pay attention to the gauges/things going on with the truck and how much you are willing ot spend on the meth injection setup.

done right it is very relible.

Here is another video i tossed together that talks more about the truck as a whole, kinda pointless but i had the footage so figured why not.

I edited the second post to add in all the videos of the truck but in case ya'll are too lazy to go back here they are again:

Here is a whole bunch of videos of this truck over time, these are in order from oldest to newest.

To see all my videos you can go to my Youtube channel and subcribe if you want.

Please rate/comment the videos

All videos in HD!

First off here is the first video most of you have seen of the first start:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvGSvHTPX3M

Next is the dyno i did a few weeks after getting it running with the stock pulley making 222rwhp:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKQ7mjjeoCg

Here is when I took it to the 1/8th mile drag track and ran it with a few hundred pounds of MR2 stuff in the back, still on the stock pulley and still managed to beat a miata:

Mod overview after doing the 2.2 pulley and meth injection.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr13OB2P65c

Meth injection/power mods i have made to get to the level it is now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYBOlsLTZQ8

And the best for last! Burnout/Street pulls in the 4runner after the latest mods, 0-60 in about 7 seconds.

Look what i parked next too today:

Can see the truck in the background. Reminded me a lot of my MR2, just quicker in the bends and slower in a straight line.

It was supercharged as well ;-)

hahaha, sweet car...

TexasAce, yes on the fuel upgrade kit and not the 7th injector... I thought at the time the 7th injector was the 'crappy' upgrade compared to what I got but most of them make a little more power initially, but since I was running meth already, saw it pointless to add another 'squirter' in the intake.

just my two cents guys, I would NOT run washer fluid thru your engine, will it kill it, no... BUT, meth and dH2O is not that expensive or hard to get, please use the real stuff. in a pinch sure, but long term I would stay away from it. maybe that's just a preference thing, I don't recall seeing anyone do a 'mythbusters' on it or anything but like I say, easy to procure & run pure meth/distilled water from the grocery store...

TexasAce, haven't looked at your link for the DIY kit yet or your new vids but will give any feedback I have for you tomorrow when I'm supposed to be working, HAHAHA!! yotatech at work is great, makes the time fly...

see you guys tomorrow....

another question a bunch of guys usually have about the meth is how much do you go thru? how long between fill ups?

Depends on a few things, nozzle size and driving habits are the two that make the biggest difference... I run a 5 gal nozzle now on my MAF sensor, drive like an idiot and get about 2-3 tanks of gas from a 2.5 gal meth tank (1.25 gal of meth, the other half distilled water)

if I drive like grandma on sunday, I could easily get 3-4 tanks of gas before having to fill up the methanol.

with my 2 gal nozzle on my NA 3.0 4runner, I fill it up about once every other month, doesn't take hardly any. my 3 gal nozzle on my truck before I SC'd, I would go thru about 4-5 tanks of gas between fill ups on the methanol. I drive about 1500 miles / month and get methanol 10gal at a time, usually about 2-3 months in between buying it. It's not that big of a PITA at all I don't think and reaping tons of benefits in power and fuel economy.

hopefully that helps someone thinking about installing alcohol injection
