tbar questions

why does it say in the performance parts catalog that you need 25mm tbars if you are getting bigger tires or adding a winch or if you are going to crank the tbars to add a little lift. I understand the the adding extra weight with a winch but it says that cranking them makes the ride stiff and if you buy these it will help eliminate this. Isnt the ride stiff because the suspension geometry. Are they just trying to sell these to make more money? And why if you buy bigger tires? Im confused let me know!

Beats me scuba, I went with some downey after market t-bars on an old truck I had.... same chit "they will increase ride comfort and are way stronger"... hardly, they were a tad stronger... but they were like driving a lumber truck (way too stiff). The stock ones always worked better for me.

Yup, they're perpetuating the myth to sell tbars.

Robinhood you are the reason I even posted this. After reading your post last night about suspension components and how they work I was looking through their catalog and noticed they completely disagreed with everything you said. Bastards.

Torsion bars are rather unique... the stock ones will work even with added weight.... just adjust them accordingly. The thicker ones just have way to much pre-load even after you beat the hell out of them.
