Taking Doors off
Alright i've been checking into taking the front two doors off the 4runner and maybe later this summerr getting some tube doors made. I've looked at and the only question is what i need to do with all the wires there?

Its really not worth it if you have power windows and such, I dont so its really easy for me to take mine on and off....The only thing you can really do is put some quick disconnects or something to make it easier

The disconnects are inside the kick panels. Unfortunately, the speakers are in the doors, when I built my tube doors, I added speaker mounts and did a little wiring so I could still have sound.

I am still trying to figure out a good latch design. I'll try to get some pics as I come up with a better idea.

ive been doing it for a few months.. aside from the weight of the doors.. they are fairly easy to take off and put on... and inside the main vertical door beam is the plug for the door lights and such so if you unplug that then the light wont stay on. I used 4 5/16ths bolts, 2 per door, and cut out the pin with a dremel to make it easier to put on, cause its a royal PITA to put them back on if you just take the door off the hinge bolts... just say when and ill take some pics of what to unplug and such to get em off

How do you remove the door holder-opener thing that's in between the two mounting brackets that hold the door on? I got so close to getting them off and it looks pretty snazzy. I'll have to figure out what to do for mirrors since it's illegal to not have them

It's a 10mm bolt, just screws out. As for mirrors, you could always fab something to mount to where the door mounts are
