Will those of you with 2001+ Tacomas check your tailgates for me? I went to the stealership (not the stealership where I bought the truck) to have them take a look at the condensation in my tail lamps and they told me they’d order some new laps for me. They also asked me if I’d been in an accident because there’s no VIN number on my tailgate; sad that they didnt know for sure whether tailgates have vins or not. If 2004 Tacoma tailgates have VIN numbers the stealership better have a good explanation because I haven’t been in any accidents.

I didnt see one on my 2004.

The service rep didnt say a specific spot on the tailgate. He just said it was odd there wasnt a vin on the tailgate.

2000 GMC (S-10) tailgate has a vin#

Looked at two other 04 taco tailgates - no vin number.
