Tacoma brake upgrade....
I've searched around quite a but and I have found quite a bit of info on swapping out the Tacoma calipers with Tundra parts. I am curious as to whether it is possible to also swap out the Tacoma's booster and master cylinder with that of a Tundra. By "possible," I mean without tons of modifications.
Here's why I'm asking. My girlfriend and I bought a new Four Wheel Camper's Eagle this past summer and used it the rest of the season in my '97 4cyl truck that has 230,000 miles on it. Well, yesterday I bought a 2003 6cyl Taco, with only 41,000 miles on it. It is totaled from a rear end collision. I am going to build a utility bed to replace the factory bed and do some other mods to help with hauling the camper. Numero Uno, being the brakes. The camper isn't terribly heavy, but it was too much for the stock stoppers in the mountains. I am also going to remove the factory proportioning valve and replace it with a manually adjustable unit. Besides the fact that those things notoriously don't work, I have airbags on the truck. this keeps the truck from squatting at all, which hides the fact that there is more weight in the bed of the truck.
Any information at all would be appreciated. Pics and Part numbers would be even better. Hopefully, I'm not too much here.
Thanks
