Tacoma Bilstein 5100 height-adjustable struts for Tundra TRD/OEM 4Runner lift?

Hey all,

Been researching my lift for a while and finally have come up with what I think will be my setup, just wanted to get some opinions on the front lift. The rear is going to be 95 FZJ80 coils with used FZJ80 Tokicos from the old SS#7.0 lift.

My question and the reason for this thread is my proposed front lift. I would like to run the custom made Race Car Dynamics Bilstein 5100 sold through Downsouth Motorsports on eBay with the Tundra TRD 4X4 front springs. The valving on these is unknown. But I do know that they are made as a leveling strut for Tacomas and sounds like it should not be much stiffer than stock and more than likely on par with something TRD, which maybe puts it somewhere close to where the Tacoma Double Cab Tokico TRD struts are in terms of valving.

Do you guys think this will ride nice on and off road? The mystery valving is the only thing holding me back. From numerous searches I have not been able to find someone who has given feedback after having install them, let alone finding people who even have these on a 4Runner. Any input into this setup is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The old 7.0 kit used OME 890 rear coils and STOCK 4Runner TrekMaster rear shocks. You have that all wrong.

The Tacoma shocks are valved way too soft/spongy. Get a set you'll see.

It will be a long journey piecing something together and you will have many revisions. Just as we have since 2001.
