Taco spring swap

Has anyone here retrofitted Tacoma springs onto an 89-95 pickup? I have an opportunity to get some cheap Tacoma 2" lift springs from a 2003 and was wondering if it was sorth it...from what I've heard up to 96 has the same springs and 97 and later have longer ones. Thanks

i believe the taco springs are longer than what you have right now, you will have to do some measuring to see if they will fit, mainly center bolt to either end of the pack to see where to relocate your stock hanger, if the taco springs are longer

i am pretty sure they are longer, you will need some shackles or some new front spring hangars welded on

So if I just run shackles and mount the front in the stock hangers will that screw up my pinion angle or driveshaft angles or anything?

I'm not a mechanical engineer but I would definately relocate the rear shackle hanger to accomodate the longer springs. Just getting a longer shackle won't do anything but limit your up-travel as well as effect the axle wrap. It would probably take a competent welder no more than 30 min. for both sides. lol

if you jsut toss in the longer springs and dont relocate the front hangar or the rear shackle mount, your axle will most likely be set further back and will not fit in your wheelwell, the axle sits in the middle of the spring usually, and if you dont relocate where the middle is, then it wont be centered in the wheelwell
