synthetic?

who here uses synthetic oil?
i just rebuilt my 89 22re. and im tryin to decide if to use synthetic. i have used mobile 1 10w30 in my 2002 silverado ever since the 1st oil change. the 1st 500 miles are comming up

I say go with synthetic. Not just for your oil, but all your fluids.

Let your motor brake in 1st. Maybe around 10,000 miles. Then put it in.

I say synthetic is a waste from what I've seen. These toyota engines will run 1/4 million miles easy on regular oil (especially the 22R's) if you treat them right. In that time perioud you would buy spend enough to buy another engine if you were using synthetic I would bet. Just my .02.
