Swapping coilovers, Tacoma to 4Runner... question
I'm getting ready to switch the coilovers that I had on my 01 Tacoma (Fabtech 2.5 Dirt Logics) over to my 02 4Runner. I know they are a direct fit but does anybody know if I will have to crank them back down to do this?? Their at about 2 inches now and I really don't want to if I don't have to. Man they were a PITA to crank up!!.

It will be impossible to switch them. You need to send them to me.
Ok seriously, being that your Taco has the 4 cyl, you may need to crank them to compensate for the heavier V6 (assuming your Runner has the 3.4).

Thanks guys. Just removed them both. Man I'm so glad that adding and removing coilovers is so easy. Guess us Tacoma/4runner guys are pretty lucky!
Now just wish I could figure out what makes the knocking sound once their installed. Checked both and they seem to be perfect but ever since I had them on the Tacoma (35k) they have made a slight knocking sound when I go over bumps... like a bolt is loose or something. I have checked every bolt. Oh well...

As I told you on the phone, you will find the top plate is rotated 15 degrees off on the 4Runner. You'll see when you go to install it. Your rear suspension will be delivered tomorrow 12-10-2008.

I'm just re-reading this and I feel like a moron. I misunderstood the assignment.
I was thinking you were asking about the change in weight from the 4cyl to 6cyl, not whether or not you had to crank them down to reinstall them on the runner. I guess I get an F for this one.
Can I do some extra credit to bring my grade back up?
