Suspension Poll

For those of you that have installed lift coils and shocks, how many of you have included the following mods?

I'm getting ready to install OME coils, shocks, and a diff. drop kit. I'd like to see what else I should think about doing.

For those of you that have done the diff drop, did you keep the stock skid plate?

If you made multiple selections in the poll, please post which ones.

Thanks!

yes.

you realize NONE of these are necessary. especially the brake lines. if you do any of them, do the diff drop first, then the panhard (but dunno where youre gonna get one).

Hey Ryan,

I was hoping that they really weren't absolutely necessary. I've read that most people have only done some of these things as a preventative measure, just wanted to be sure.

I did the e-brake bracket for the rear because the line was pretty tight when the suspension droops. Plus it's a super easy bracket to make. There seemed to be a lot of spare brake line.

I am still planning to do the front dif drop, but after the suspension install I am not sure it is really necessary. The CV angles with 1.75" of lift in front look fine and no fins are touching on the boot.

I doubt I will get to the panhard bracket.

I don't know if this counts, but I had to have an extended brake line or something installed when I got my Downey Rear Coils installed. It came in the box, so I had my mechanic install it

I did the brake line extension when I installed my HD Downey Coils and put on the brake line relocating bracket.

last I'd heard he'd make them to order, special requests or whatever, but that could be old info.

Yes he can make them to order, I contacted him about an e-brake bracket and a PanHard kit. He's tied up with AZRocks so it will be a few weeks.

OK, I had a little chuckle. I tried to answer the poll, but with all the mods that I've done, I couldn't say yes to any of those.

Ebrake move - don't have one since I did the disc brake conversion.
Diff drop - had that, but then I did an SAS.
Pan Hard drop - did that till I took out the coils and point in leafs.
Brake line extension. OK I had to answer yes to that one :o)

I agree, I was going to just make my own using an old tow package I have laying around, measured it and the square tubing would fit perfectly, have the tools to do the work, only problem is I sold the it about a week before I was going to cut it up. you could go to a machine shop and usually they'll let you pick through their scrap, the ones I know of anyway, or you could go to the hardware store and buy the materials for around 10 bucks. you just need the tools.
