supercharger for the 3.0

supercharger for the 3.0
I am wondering if the TRD supercharger is still avaliable for the 3.0 second generation 4runners? Are they still produced, or does anybody know of any supplier that may still have any?

There never was such a thing. The 3.0 is a, well, not a good engine to say the least. It works for me because I don't need a ton of power for 4x4ing. The headgaskets have a problem with failing and adding a supercharger wouldn't help. It sucks that there isn't much out there for our engine, your best bet, if you want a ton more power, is to do an engine swap.

I too asked the same question when I first joined YT. Then I discovered the "search" function. There are two very doable Toyota swaps. The 3.4 V6 from the 4R and Taco or the I6 from the Supra, GS300, IS300, etc.

There was a supercharger for the OTHER 3.0~ It was the 24 valve 4 cam 3.0 that was in the Lexus's and some other cars, but it was a completely different animal all together.

eh I wouldn't say it's a bad engine. t's kinda slow, but pretty reliable. The headgasket issue i hear can be resolved. I assume that the previous owner of my runner did the recall cause I haven't had an issue with it in 4 years of ownership. Wow. It's been 4 years already. I love my 4runner.
