Supercharged 4runner - FINALLY!

i bought a 4runner and have been messing with the supercharger to work at its best with the urd 7th inj and need to tune it now with my computer but im lost as can be on this part! (still reading up)


anyways i have the 2.2 urd pulley but would love to get the stock TRD supercharger pulley if anyone has or can sell me it (2.37" i believe is stock) reason is because i just cant add more fuel to compensate for the 2.2 and its leaned out i think




if anyone has or knows where i can order the 2.37" stock trd supercharger pulley please let me know!

Have you tried toyota for the pulley, and a SAFC by APEX would allow you to trick the computer into thinking there is more air entering the system which the computer compensates for buy adding more fuel, you really need a WBO2 (wide band O2) to monitor fuel trims to actually tune the SAFC properly or at least a egt gauge and and basic O2 gauge. Have you pulled a plug to confirm your lean?, from what I understand these things run pretty rich from factory, at toyota they installed them with no 7th INJ and you where on your way. I have often thought of putting on a supercharger just never come up with low Km's and I worry I might tear the auto transmission apart with my spirited driving and a standard is in my past

Get rid of the 7th injector and add methanol injection with a fat nozzle.

I was putting 400 crank hp through the auto with a 3k stall and valvebody and I wouldn't hestitate to run 500 through it.

You need a wideband gauge ASAP. I highly recommend AEM UEGO. You can street tune with that, otherwise, you can't really know what's happening unless you're hearing detonation or pulling plugs often. You need to hook your FPR up to a boost source to raise fuel pressure when in boost, it's a free mod. You also need to change to a step or two colder plug BKR6E, or even BKR7E copper plug.

Methanol/water injection is the way to go if your tuning for racing, for a daily driver I found using it expensive(as the price went from $3/4L to $10/4L CAN), and annoying to fill up all the time(use at least a 5L tank or bigger) and I had to replace 2 Devils Own Pumps over a 10year period on my car, I also found that setting the boost solenoid that activates the Methanal pump to 10Psi difficult(perhaps more difficult with the boost your running) without installing an indicator led telling me the pump was on when I wanted it, than you have to play with pressure on the methanol pump and nozzle size and how many in my case to insure you are atomizing the spray, all great things for racing application when you start getting into higher boost like 15psi.

The best way to tune a daily driver is make it simple find a way to control fuel trims (SAFC) and tune using the WB02, set it and forget it, if your exceeding your injector duty cycle required for the boost your running, you put in bigger injectors.
