I have a grease gun a buddy gave to me .For the life of me I can`t figure out how the cartrige goes in or even if it does .I have no manual .I can open the end of the grease gun no problem .Do I just squeez the grease into the gun .The cartrige doesn`t seen to fit .

At the end of the cylinder, there is a T handle. Pull it out (about a foot or so) then the shaft has a thin groove to catch on the cylinder (move the shaft sideways into the key type slot).

Then unscrew the cylinder from the gun head. Remove the plastic cap from the end of the grease cartrige. That end should slide into the cylinder. When it is all the way into the cylinder, pull the metal cap off...its like a pull tab (don't forget it, its embarassing). You should see grease under that metal cap. Screw the head back on. Now move the T handle shaft sidways to free the shaft. (It should be spring loaded to go in). When the plunger reaches the grease the handle will stop. You can push the shaft the rest of the way in (if stuck, try rotating it )

Pump the gun to get the grease moving out the hose (sometimes difficult if there is air trapped)

Mine is spring loaded. First you pull the spring loaded plunger all the way out the back and lock it into place. Then you unscrew the front and slide out the old cartrige and replace it.

But be carefull not to bump the spring loaded handle when you have the top off. Mine will fire the new full tube of grease like a mortor shell.
