Question stuck rear window: regulator or motor???

the rear window is stuck up on my aunts 98 runner. when i push the switch to open, i can hear a slight click, but when pushed to close it doesnt make any noise at all. keying it up or down doesnt do anything either. with that info, can u tell if its the motor or the regulator? im hoping it the regulator cause the motor is $$$. i searched and didnt find anything specific to this.

If no movement at all, it sounds like the motor. The regulator is basically the mechanism. When the regulator is bad, it will still TRY to go up and down, be jerky, or really slow due to gunk. Pull the panel off and have alook. If the regulator is still all nice and shiney, it is likely the motor.

On the bright side, I'm on my third motor and 2nd regulator on my 10 year old Runner.
