Stuck fuel guage
Last weekend, while on a climbing trip in WVA, I found myself 4wheeling because of some bum directions. I know all to well how deep small mud holes can be but because I was unable to turn around I had to plow through. Amazingly, I didn't get stuck.
The outcome of the day was an Amsoil air filter/air box with muddy water in it (yes, deckplate was sealed and yes, I fully realize what could have been), a fuel gauge that is not working because it's stuck on full, some interesting engine noise that sounds like grit in the belts (??) and a 4runner covered in mud/clay.
The air box and air filter have been cleaned but I am curious if anyone else has had their gas gauge get stuck on full, possibly from an impact? Can someone tell me where the sending unit sits in the tank (front or back)? The gas tank skid plate is dented but does not appear that I dented the tank (tuff to tell). I defiantly hit something hard coming out of the hole, more than likely I slid the truck on the skidplate. I did reset the gauge (TSB procedure) with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions one where to start other than pulling the skid plate and tank?

The sending unit is in the tank. This thread might help you out: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ending+problem
