Strange smell from gas tank
Been noticing a strange smell coming from my gas tank, kind of a sickly-sweet smell as though the truck was running rich, but the smell isn't coming from the exhaust. I filled up today, and being in Denver, our gas is loaded with ethanol due to the EPA b.s. (good-bye good mileage!), so I'm attibuting the smell to the ethanol. I didn't experience this during our trip East last week, and not often during the summer EXCEPT when I used a station that runs ethanol gas year 'round. Has anyone else experienced this while running ethanol-mixed gas?
Also, how is it we can clean the air by using ethanol when you get lower gas mileage and have to use more gas? Sounds like corn-farmer and U.S. Congress logic to me.
