Stock spare tire carrier

Has anybody had a stock spare tire carrier go out on the before? I took my spare down about a week ago to clean it and put some grease on all the moveable parts so that I wouldn't get stuck somewhere and then about...2 or 3 days later every time I hit a bump that made the rear of the rig move a lot about a milisecond after the bump I heard a CLUNK from the rear, like something was hitting it...so I crawled under there and didnt see anything, drove around some more to isolate the kind of bumps and it did it every time over the exact same bumps...so I thought it might be the exhuast I had put on about a month ago coming loose, went out and wiggled the crap out of it and I mean it moved, but nothing that would cause it to make much noise...so then I looked at the spare tire and it looked like it was leaning back towards that hitch an awful lot...so I took it town, retightened it and then drove around...still clunked. I noticed that if I pushed on the front of the tire it would wobble a LOT, and when it would go back to its resting position it would slam against the trailer hitch.

Anybody have this happen before? It's really annoying! Do you think I might need a new one??

Turns out...it wasn't the spare tire carrier...there was a bracket holding a wiring harness hanging loose near the rear bumper.

No idea where to get one cheaper than that man, good luck!

if you are looking for a chain operated winch for the spare tire system, i have one off of my pickup just killing space in the backyard under an makeshift shed we built
