The paperwork your subs came with will state what kind of box(ported/sealed) and how large(0.75cu ft or 1.5cu ft). You need to build you box where your sub has the recommended enclosure and airspace. Also keep in mind, if you go slightly larger than recommended air space youll get more boomy bass, if you go lower in airspace you get tighter bass.

There is this program call WinISD made by linear team. You can get it here http://www.linearteam.dk/ . Play around with it, you can plug in the specs of your speaker that came with the subs and you can fool around with air spaces and looking at the plots to see what creates the best box for your subs. It takes a little bit to learn the program but well worth it.

if you are limited on space and hence internal volume you can also use polyfill inside the enclosure. it has the effect of making the enclosure seem larger than it really is to the driver, and it will generally tighten the sound by cancelling reverberation. from past experience I would think at least .75 cu. ft. per 10" driver.
