Stereo Issues

Sup yall. Got a quick question, and tell me if you have had the same issue and how to fix it. That is if it doesn't require going to the dealership.

In the whip i have the jbl 6 disk in dash with the 10 speakers. Yesterday i was getting something out of the back of the truck while the car was running and the stereo was on, when i put my ear close to the rear speakers on the back pillars and i heard nothing but static. Now, on the jbl i can switch b/w surround and regular. Correct me if i am wrong but with surround sound, shouldn't every speaker be on, and during regular only the front and door speakers be on.

So, my question is this, is the stereo or something else programed wrong to allow only the rear speakers to play during regular mode and not surround? Or is this a dealer issue.

Quite concerned, b/c this car is only 3 months old

Thanks
