I installed Bilsteins last year, and now I'm about to install a Daystar lift. The front bilsteins reused the stock stem cushions (upper stud shock mount bushings). When I install the Daystar lift I would like to use new poly cushions. Does anyone know the deminsions or a place to get them from?

A variety of your local autoparts stores usually carry the "Performance Suspension" or "Energy Suspension" urethane bushings.

Id second that, they will usually have a catalog that lists them by sizes and such, should be able to help you out.

Thanks, but that does not really help me. I know a bunch of places where I can get bushings in any size. I was asking what the size is. Most places are not going to know what size. My only good chance is that I know the part # for Daystar bushings, but could not find them online. Maybe a local shop can order them using the part #.

"Stem cushions/bushings" are pretty much universal in size.

You obviously have not looked for them, there is a huge difference. There might be a few sizes that fit most, but I would think it is important to use the right size. The hole should be the same size as the shock shaft, the nipple should be the width of the hole that the shock mounts to, and the overall width is not as important, but could be. I'm looking for the right fit, not "universal".

I don't know what?? That any old cushion will work. Look, I want the lifting process to be fast and painless, so having the exact part on hand is the way to go. Maybe you like the old "trial and error."

While you do learn alot more through the rigors of "trial and error", I had thought that you posted up on this site and asked your question to gleam the knowledge of those who had already tried, erred and now knew better and were trying to pass that knowledge onto you because you'd asked for it.

Have'nt you heard, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. I would'nt have directed you to one of your local auto parts store had I not been able to remedy the very same ailment/perform the very same upgrade, as you and found what I needed there.

Afterall, why waste my time?!

I don't want to start an argument, but NOOO you did not answer my question. You simply said go to a store. I'm in the military and work 12 or more hours a day, and don't have a lot of time to spend stopping buy stores. I was looking for 2 possible answers. 1. "Yeah, I know the stats, they are ?" hole-?" nipple-?" wide." 2. "Yeah, I bought some at such n such store." It is common since to try going to different stores to find answers, I just thought maybe I could get a quick accurate answer here, but no I get guys like you giving me nothin!!!!

Go to AutoZone, go to their "Suspension/Tools" aisle, look for the little clear plastic packages that contain approx. eight (8) bright red urethane bushings/cushions and a set of accompanying washers by "Energy Suspensions" (I think).
Again, they are essentially universal in size, given the commonality in the automotive component industry, and work with a wide variety of applications that do not require that much thought.
I could be really "anal" about it and take the time to go out and get you some actually dimensions of the cushions themselves, but that would be a waste of my time and "anal", actions which I neither engage in or support.
I think that you're simply putting too much thought into this and making a simple operation harder than it has to be, but then again, you are in the military and they do like to do things the hard way first to show you how not to do it, so it's probally gotten ingrained into you...take it easy, go to AutoZone and be done with it.

Ah, I don't have an AutoZone close, but thanx for a more direct answer, even though I think you were putting me down.

And so you know, I wasn't asking you personally to take measurements, (why you think so I have no clue), I thought maybe someone had some spares handy to measure. Just because you decide to chime in on the thread does not mean that I was JUST asking you, I would have just sent you an EMAIL if I was asking YOU to take measurements.

Try a NAPA (although I'm not a 100% on that one) or a Pep Boys, Car Source, Advanced Auto, or Bumper to Bumper.

You should be able to pick them up at any of those.

Again, and no "put downs" intended, "stem bushings" are universally sized, that's why "measuring" is'nt required, not to mention the fact that they compress upon installation which drastically changes their dimensions, plus everyone who buys them pretty much does so to put them on then, not later.

No bother the sarcasm, I'm use to it, it's not appreciated, but I'm use to it.

Maybe Try Truckperformance.com To See Some Of The Different Sizes, Or Maybe Try The Manufactuer's Sites To See The Differrent Sizes They Use.

You know, I've gone through Tokico, Bilstein, Ranchero and am now on KYB and on every application I was able to go to the auto store, pick up a pack of the off-the-shelf urethane bushings, put them on without any problems whatsoever.

I'm not really interested in what other vehicles that they are talking about in other forums as my concern lies with my 'Yota and the applications for it as all things 'Yota are relative.

Sorry that you've come to feel the way that you have..., you're the one who'll, unfortunately for you, be missing out.
