Starter removal on '97 LTD

I have been struggling for the last 5 hours, trying to get the damn starter off my '97 LTD. I've gottan as far as the starter is off the bell housing, but I can't seem to be able to get it out from the truck. Anyone got any tips?? I've tried moving the brake lines and brackets from the passenger side, but can't seem to wiggle it out. Any thoughts anyone???? Please help!!!!

I was able to squeeze mine out between the exhaust and the frame from underneath, but it was tight.

Well after about an hour of wrestling with this thing, and many layers of skin off my hands, its off. I actually ripped it out from the passenger side fenderwell. This has not been the easiest of tasks, but its finally out. Hopefully it goes in a little smoother.
