Stalled during heavy accelleration

So yesterday a light turned green and the scion tc next to me revved up his engine and took off and flashed his hazard lights.(what a fag) At the next red light we ended up side by side again. I knew this time he was going to cut me off so I punched it. Sure enough good ol 4runner outran a tc. But around 50 mph, immediately after I let off the gas to slow down, I stalled. I coasted into a parking lot, bumped it in neutral and tried to start it. It cranked for a good 5 seconds without firing. I turned the key off for a few seconds, then turned the key to on and waited a few seconds, then cranked it and it started immediately. No problems before then or since then. And no eng. lights.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas on what it might be?
I'm suspecting fuel filter or pump...
all help is much appreciated

Yeup, I'd say filter or pump is the place to start - possibly bad gas.

I've had this happen to me before. Always went away after a fresh tranny flush. Seemed like it wasn't kicking down, or something. Related or not, that's my experience.

Same damn thing happened to me only I wasn't racing. Ended up coasting to a stop on the side of the road. Took alot of cranking before it actually fired. Happened to me again the other night. I've got the replacement fuel filter in my truck, but no time to replace it.

I'm pretty sure it's located by under the drivers door under the car by the frame rail.
