As the threads might indicate - I'm overhauling the brake system. I opted to install AOR's stainless steel brake lines - they look great and have pretty good reviews here.

Well got everything put on and tightened up. Hooked up the Motive Power Bleeder to knock all the air out of the system. Almost done and notice all the nice new banjo fittings are dripping!!!!!!

So obviously I'm not torquing them down enough?? Is a thread locker or sealant required?? Teflon Tape?? What is the answer??

Anyone who has installed them please give me some advice.

Try tightening them down a bit, while someone is pressing on the brakes, but not too tight. If that don't work loosen the line up then re- tighten it. After I replaced my lines, I had 1 that leaked, it only took a bit more tightening to cure it.

I don't remember seeing crush washers in the stock system or in the box from AOR. The system seem to be entirely flare end tubing and banjo fittings.

I cranked them down hard today and no more leakage - yet!! Let me know about the crush washers if this is something that is missing.

I have NO experience with the particular product you are talking about, BUT I have done alot of work with brake lines, oil lines and such for motorcycles and there are allways a copper or aluminum crush washer on each side of the banjo fitting. This acts as a sort of gasket, and deforms to fill any small imperfections in the bolt or banjo fitting.
Any high performance place that sells Earls or AN fittings should carry what you need.

FWIW, I've always heard that teflon tape isn't a good idea on hydraulic lines. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

If there is a banjo fitting, there must be a crush-washer. It will eventually leak if you don't put them in.
