Question squeeling sound making me crazy

I've got this squeeling sound coming from my 99 runner..at first I thought it only started up after I had been driving it a while, but now I'm not so sure. I definately hear it most when driving beside another car, a jersey wall, or something that reflects the noise back. Sounds like it's coming from the front driver side wheel. Doesn't make the noise when in park or neutral.

Had the shop check the bearings and belts and they said everything checked out ok. Anybody have any suggestions?

Oh, that same tire/wheel has been making a squeeking noise when I go over any type of bump - no matter how small....could the two be related?

Get your brakes checked, it could be the wear indicator on your brakes telling you to get new pads. My 92 Toyota PU made a sqealing noise when my brake pads got low. If it's not that, I would take it to a different shop and get them to check your belts again.

The squeeking sound over bumps is most likely the sway bar bushings being dusty. Hose them off and see if the noise goes away.

The squeeling sound while driving is either worn brake pads or warped rotors rubbing on the pads. Jack up the left front, spin the wheel by hand and listen for noise. Does the brake pedal or steering vibrate under braking?

Might I also suggest the A-arm bushings?

If the sound goes away when you brake, then I would definatly say pad wear sensor. Also might check to see if the backing plate is making contact with the rotor in any way.
