i just got mine today and man i can notice a difference in horsepower and its sounds soooooo good.

What do the insides look like:

Is it like the Borla and Magnaflow where it is mostly a straight through design with a perferated pipe and sound absorbing material packed around the perferated pipe?

If it is something different please let me know what it looks like.

I've had my spintech for over 2 years and read up on it back when it was installed, (same time as the downey headers) from what i remember it has strategically positioned coil shaped swirls which seperate it into chambers and actually create a vortex that increases the speed of the flow of exhaust gasses in effect pulling the exhaust into the muffler. I loved the sound of it at first but most people who've heard it really don't like it! they think it sounds loud but kinda flat and to be honest i have to agree. perhaps it is better sounding on 3rd gens and newer as mine is just a 3.0 2nd gen. I've been planning on changing to something else like a gibson or borla for some time now. just my 2 cents

I have a muffler that I am going to dyno test that has a very unique design. It uses a large ventrui and is very interesting. If I can prove it makes more power then stock I will be selling them.

I have been told that it makes more power then the Borla and it was the muffler that TRD wanted to use in their systems, but Borla was able to give them a better price.

Anyway, I will keep you all posted if I ever get to testing it.

Spin Tech does make some nice stuff - but the extra back-pressure can only hurt rwhp IMHO. We've only been doing exhaust for about a year, but have done a ton in that time. All custom(check sig under 'Performance'). One of our shop cars has spin-techs on it. It didn't hurt power on his car, but it didn't really help it either.. He just wanted and loved the sound.

Of course, only a dyno comparison will tell for sure - but my bet would be on a straight-through design for more power. IE Magnaflow, Dynomax, Borla, etc..

Are you talking about a muffler like the Nissan's, where is produces more back pressure at low throttle for low end torque, and then opens up a second chamber when at higher throttles for maximum power and flow? They use a valve mechanism inside it that opens and closes based on pressure. It's a great system, and is one of the ways that Nissan has such a strong motor drivetrain combination on their cars.

Nope, it does not have a spring loaded flap in the muffler. It is a reversed venturi design. Kind of like the way an airplane wing generates vacuum as air rushes by it. I hope it works. At least it sould sound better then the Borla.
