if you've lifted it 4" your spare probably isn't the same size as your tires, no?

why not just remove the spare entirely and eject some unnecessary weight? a little less work for the engine to do and maybe a little boost in gas mileage.

keep a can of fix-a-flat in the rig, just in case.

well, you might as well sell the spare; what good is it with 32s all around?

Find a spare tire winch from a 1980's Pickup they use a chain and not a cable. The are much stonger.

I can find them rust free out here in Arizona.

Just be sure you take it off and clean / re-grease it once a year or so. Once the mechanism gets all gunked up, that spare ain't commin' down the regular way.

Thanks but since we don't get rust, we don't get gunk.

Rubber rots fast here but steel lasts forever.

LOL I hope that was tongue-in-cheek.. 1" difference makes no real difference.

I carried the stock spare (225R75/15) on my 85 and ran 33s for 15 years. I only needed it a couple of times but it got me home just fine. Once I did have to swap it to the front when I tore out a sidewall on a rear tire. A little extra work that day but way better than having a 33 in the back of the 4Runner taking up space all those years.

if you have any kind of lsd or locker there will br problems.....

if its open its doable, however its best to carry around the proper tire size outside diameter....

Very true, as I said, once I had to change it to the front when I tore out a rear tire (double the work) but once in 15 years was fine with me. For a difference of 31" to 32" I wouldn't have bothered, but for 28" to 33" I didn't think the rear posi would've liked it.

On my '90 I've determined that by rerouting my exhaust pipe and reversing the shackle bolts and moving the lift winch a couple of inches I can get a 35 under there, so that's what I'm going to do. One of these days...

"I only needed it a couple of times but it got me home just fine."

that's all i meant; enough to get you home, but you'd want to go back to the same size all-around.
